Some people learn how to play guitar on their own, however the majority of people are not able to learn guitar on their own without any help. At the top of this site I have posted a link that will take you step by step in learning the guitar. I have found many of my students say the guitar lessons really excelled them in their ability to learn guitar.
In the beginning it is good to have patience. Start out learning a few cords and then practice them. Weather you want to play country or rock knowing simple cords is the key to getting started.
Once you have mastered a few cords keep learning more and more. Then you can begin to use variations of these cords to play songs you know or write new ones. This is some of the steps in learning how to play guitar.
I have had my students try different course programs that help them to learn guitar. One good thing about the courses you can take from home is that you decide when you want to take you guitar lessons. You can also decide how many times you want to repeat a guitar lessons.
This gives you flexibility and now time is on your side and learning guitar fits into any schedule. Most of my new students learn guitar basics and are already playing songs by the end of a weekend. Learning guitar is always easer than the person thinks. People of all ages can achieve many different levels when they decide to learn how to play guitar.
You can learn electric and acoustic guitar with this course. I am will reviewing another course for those people who really want to get the most out of their guitar lessons. For now I have found at least one very good course.

Serious Guitar Lessons – - Learn and Master Guitar Review

Learn and Master Guitar is probably the best guitar training course out there for someone that is really serious about learning guitar.  This is definitely not the course for the casual guitar player that is just looking for a hobby.

The course is physically quite large.  You will receive a complete lesson book, 10 or an optional 20 instructional “session” DVDs, and 5 play along CDs, and there is also more material available online.  The company has produced a very high quality product.  The instruction is first rate, and the DVDs and CDs are of incredibly good quality, which is a pleasant surprise.  There is also a “Home School Edition” available that includes a Teacher’s Guide and 2 DVDs, to help parents direct their children through the course.

Learn and Master Guitar provides customer support by both telephone and email, and also offers free online support.  Students can post questions on a “members only” forum website, and also communicate with other students to discuss their progress and questions. Unlike many online companies, you can actually get a customer representative on the phone during normal business hours, and they are courteous and well informed.

The reason that this program is not the “First Choice” is because although an incredibly good program, it is also not inexpensive.  Learn and Master Guitar is worth the price, but it may not be appropriate for everyone.  If you are dedicated and serious about your guitar playing, this is the program for you.  If you are a parent looking for a first guitar course for your child between age 6 and 10, the information could be overwhelming and you might want to reconsider.  However, if you plan on working with your child the “Home School Edition” of the program is a great application.

Learn & Master Guitar Review

The Learn and Master Guitar course by Legacy Learning Systems is a very complete guitar instruction classroom on DVD. It comes delivered to your house loaded with information and several different approaches to learning guitar. The first path to learning the guitar is the DVD sessions. These are followed up by workshops and your own practice time. To help fully incorporate the sessions into your consciousness there is also a 107 page workbook to follow with the sessions and jam along CD’s to cement what you’ve learned. With all of this there is also a member’s only web-site where as a Learn and Master Guitar owner you can go and get even more valuable learning information for your guitar playing.

The DVD’s, with 20 sessions in all, are packed with extensive instruction in a setting that is very comfortable and at a very good pace for any guitar player. They are produced very well with a split screen so the student can watch the instructor (Steve Krenz) play his guitar and also see the notes, not only in tablature but also in musical notation. Steve Krenz is a very well spoken and well rounded guitar player. He has played with several recording artist and orchestras and is a working musician in Nashville. The latter alone, as any musician knows is no small feat.

After each session there is workshop time. This is about fifteen minutes of going over what was taught in the session. This is a good feature simply because it focuses your practice. If you end up being short on time you can just go through the workshops and keep yourself up to pace until you have time to sit down for more sessions. There are also sections for guitar knowledge, in these you are told the basics of the guitar, the names and locations of its different parts what they are for and why they are needed. As a musician who also likes to know how and why everything works these little side sections were fantastic.

In addition to the DVD sessions there are also five jam along CD’s. These have the songs learned in the sessions played with a full band and at a variety of tempos. Incorporate these with a metronome and they are really great tools to learn proper beat and strumming techniques. There is no better way to learn to play a song than to play it with a band and at a pace you are comfortable with.

The workbook is in essentially the sessions on paper plus! It is one hundred and seven pages of learning. Legacy definitely put some thought into this complete learning tool. The workbook covers everything in the sessions and allows you to write in notes and do different exercises without the guitar so you may incorporate the lessons with different learning processes to really lock in what is being taught. I really had a feeling of a complete learning experience with the DVD’s, the jam along CD’s, the workshops, the guitar knowledge sections and the workbook.

On top of all of this, with the course you also gain access as a member to the Learn and Master Guitar web-site. There you can take on extra exercises and ask questions on a chat board that can be answered either by your peers or Steve Krenz himself. This is a great added feature for this very effective guitar learning tool.

If you are looking for a DVD guitar lesson that has the best potential to help you obtain your goal, Learn and Master Guitar is your best bet. If you follow the suggested time for each session the course will take you about a year. With proper practice time, about fifteen minutes to a half hour a day, you will be very pleased with the rate of success. Cost to product it is far cheaper than a year of personal lessons! I would highly recommend this course to any of my friends who wanted to learn guitar. I think it’s great!

Classical Guitar Reviews

Once you get beyond the beginner stage in classical guitar, you are immediately looking at serious musical instrument quality. If you do not have a huge guitar-buying budget, you will need to be quite choosy and able to bear in mind the qualities you feel that your present guitar lacks. Your next classical guitar is, to a large degree, your musical voice, so do not let a tight budget make you buy a second grade instrument.

Let us start with Alvarez guitars, makers of a wide range of guitars. Alvarez guitars have been recognized as one of the leading acoustic guitar brands in the world. Alvarez guitars have been made in America since 1965 and are handmade in limited quantities making use of traditional construction techniques and naturally seasoned wood. Because the Alvarez craftsmen do not use computers to build their guitars, each guitar has its own unique feel and character.

Alvarez Regent Series RC10 Classical Guitar is towards the more affordable end of the Alvarez guitar range. but the Alvarez family craftsmanship still makes itself felt. A hand picked spruce top projects a warm tone topped off by mahogany sides and back. Rosewood fretboard and bridge and a real mosaic rosette make for a sumptuous look set off by gold machine heads. The novice guitar player will be pleased with the low action and optimal string spacing.

Alvarez Masterworks Series MC90 Classical Guitar is maybe the finest classical guitar in its price range. Its Indian rosewood back and sides, plus Western cedar top with precision scalloped bracing are features usually found only on much more pricey guitars. This instrument features a really elaborate mosaic rosette, rosewood body binding and headcap. The gold machine heads with tortoise buttons make it a guitar you will be proud to play and be seen playing for many years to come.

And now for the Jose Ramirez 4E Classical Guitar. The Ramirez name has been synonymous with fine guitars since 1882, and the 4E Classical Guitar is the top of the line. It is all made completely by hand and contains much of the look and feel of more expensive instruments. With hand-inlaid purfling, the marquetry and detailing are the most refined of all the Ramirez student guitars. Humidicase is included. The Jose Ramirez 4E Classical Guitar features a Cedar soundboard, solid rosewood back and sides, Spanish cedar neck strengthened by ebony topped off by an ebony fretboard and Fustero machine heads.

Finally, the Manuel Contreras II C-7 Classical Guitar. Manuel Contreras was born in 1928 and died 1994. He started out as a cabinet maker moved onto making guitars in Jose Ramirez’ guitar shop in Madrid in 1959. He started his own luthier business in 1962. Manuel’s son Pablo was born in 1957 and presently makes guitars himself aided by a smallish staff. Although the Contreras II C-7 guitar is at the low end of the Contreras line, you still get the benefits of the Contreras tradition of making top quality classical guitars. This guitar features a light, player-friendly action and a  satisfying clarity and evenness of tone. The Manuel Contreras II C-7 Classical Guitar features a Solid cedar top with Indian rosewood back and sides plus Honduras cedar neck and ebony fingerboard.

The Rock Star Attitude and Why Women are Attracted to This – Create the Rockstar Mentality Too

If there’s any one thing you know about rock stars, it’s that they can have nearly any woman they want.  After all, they have hordes of women throwing themselves at them at every concert.

Other than the music, fame, and money, what’s the deal?  They put their pants on one leg at a time like any body else.  Actually, the attraction is something much more easily reached.

They stand out in a crowd.

Part of what a rock star develops, aside from his music, is his stage persona.   They have to be over the top and completely able to work the audience with their own brand of sexy.

Do you have your own brand of sexy?  You don’t have to be a rock star to have it.  You just need to find a way to stand out from the crowd that will attract women.

Now this may mean growing your hair longer, or changing your style of clothing.  Or, it can mean working out and getting your body in better shape.  Even if you look more like Seth Rogen from “Knocked Up”, than Matthew McConaughey, that’s okay. If you want to be branded as sexy instead of brand x then you’ll do whatever you need to do.

Don’t have clue where to start?  Just take a little time to people watch.  Look to see who the women are watching.  Take note of his dress, his hair, his gate, if he’s doing something outrageous or unusual; anything that makes him stand out.

Now, find out which personality traits of rock stars that women like the most.  Do this by asking female friends who they find sexy and ask why.  Women are usually more than willing to tell you who they think is a really sexy rocker and why.  They get turned on just talking about him.

Decide which traits will make YOU stand out, but now look weird.  Then, practice them.  The next time you go out, put on your brand of sexy and strut your stuff.

Guitar Solo Lessons – Being the Ultimate Lead Guitar Player

Do you want to be a true rocker? You have heard them, you have seen them and now you can do them… The most awesomist guitar solos on the Earth. All you need is to have solo lessons.

What is so good about guitar solos? Come on, you gotta be joking! Everybody loves a mind blowing guitar solo… but, you need to make sure that it serves the song in some way. There is nothing wrong with going a little crazy but when you watch and listen to the greats you will fast learn that their solos always adds something of value to the song.

What’s the secret to being a great guitar soloist? Training, practice, more training and more practice. In solo lessons you will learn techniques which include the pentatonic scale which will help with your solo. The good thing is these scales can be used for any type of musc that you want to play.

When going through your guitar solo lessons it is important to have someone in front of you showing you how it is done and bursting your ear drums with their own wicked guitar solo. If you can’t get a live trainer to help you out, how about an instructive video course – its the next best thing.

Where to start. You need solo lessons that will first focus on the basics where you can learn about the basic bends, hammer-ons, pull-offs and then work your way up to the more difficult techniques like rakes and sweeps (and I do not mean gardening equipment).

Now how about learning to play by ear? Does a good guitar soloist need to know how to do this? Well good solo lessons should include some instruction on this as well. Why? Well this essential skill will come in handy for the skill of listening. As when you can listen to the background section and pick up the key, then you can really get down to some awesome shredding.

Every great guitarist that does a mind blowing solo has had some sort of professional guitar solo lessons. The question then is… do you want to be one of the great guitar soloists?

Todd Kittering loves to play his guitar and perform his own solos. He took guitar solo lesson on dvd and now has his own website at http://lead-guitar.instrumentmaestro.com helping others choose the best guitar instructional course.

Does Google Have a Golden Rule?

Copyright (c) 2008 Titus Hoskins

As a full-time webmaster and site owner, figuring out just what Google wants has been the most challenging aspect of running an online business. For many webmasters Google is the eight ton elephant in the room and you only have two options: upset the elephant and get trampled or quickly find out what it likes to consume and try to feed it.

In order to keep Google fed, webmasters have to jump through more than one set of hoops. When it comes to getting top rankings in Google’s Index or SERPs, there are 200 of these hoops or ranking factors. And if you want to play in Google’s ballpark, you have to try and master the majority of them.

For years, frustrated webmasters have been guessing and searching for these ranking factors. Asking what does Google want? How does Google rank pages and keywords? How does Google want you to build your site?

Ten years ago it wouldn’t have mattered what Google thought of your site for it wasn’t even in the picture, but now when it comes to online search, Google is king of the hill. And as we all know, kings get whatever they want.

Besides, any webmaster worth his salt, knows Google is what counts when it comes to organic traffic – you can achieve #1 spots for a keyword in all three top search engines (Yahoo and MSN being the other two light-weight contenders) but Google will simply deliver the most traffic to your site.

Google doesn’t as yet have a monopoly on web search, but it’s getting close to 70% of U.S. traffic and in some countries it’s up over 90%. But it’s not only the search numbers which makes Google king – it is the prestige and power of the Google brand name. Google has truly permeated into popular culture and the public psyche like no other brand name in history.

Google brings respect and trust into the equation. Web users respect and trust Google to give them a quality answer to their question. That’s why it was rather ironic, that for years webmasters have been asking Google about their ranking system, their algorithm, their practices… for years Google remained for the most part silent. This was mainly to keep at bay, those who would like to “game” the system in order to get high rankings within Google.

Until now that is, maybe it’s just me but doesn’t it appear that Google is suddenly opening up about its whole ranking procedures and what they expect from webmasters. Maybe the answers have always been there, we just couldn’t find them. However, a more likely scenario is that someone high up within Google made the decision to be more transparent with it comes to webmasters and how much they would tell them.

In recent Webmaster live chats, Googlers Matt Cutts, Maile Ohye, among others… have been honestly answering questions about what Google requires webmasters to do regarding their sites. These are Q&A sessions dealing with the “burning questions” webmasters have had for years concerning Google and what Google wants. Do a search in Google for “Google Webmaster Help | Google Groups” if you will to find these sessions.

Since I run several modest sites on webmaster tools and Internet marketing I am approached by more than a few people who want me to help them build their online site or business. One of the major issues that always comes up somewhere in the process (usually phrased in different ways) is this question:

What does Google want? What does Google expect of my site? How do I get ranked high in Google?

Mainly because my chief goal is to help these webmasters understand Google better in order to build a profitable site; I have struggled and puzzled over this question for years.

What is Google’s Golden Rule?

Many experts believe it is related to relevancy – the key to getting high rankings is how relevant your content is to the question being asked? Maybe so, but in order to explain it to a would-be webmaster, I had to find the words that would most appropriately sum up Google’s prime directive?

After you go through all the SEO checkmarks, take into account the quality and uniqueness of your content, factor in the credibility and authority of your site and backlinks, and factor in the relevancy issue… this was the simple Google Golden Rule I came up with:

“Always think of your visitor first when creating any content for your site.”

This may or may not be what Google is expecting but all indications are pointing in the direction of the “visitor’s experience” and how good you or your content make that experience? Google is serving up a product, it wants the user of their product to be happy with the results. If they’re happy, Google is happy. And if everyone’s happy then the kingdom grows.

Still anything as simple and as complicated as getting top rankings in Google can’t be boiled down to a single catch phrase. You must do your homework and a good starting point would be to thoroughly read Google’s Webmaster Guidelines. Studying and listening to the latest Google webmaster chats may also prove beneficial and helpful.

However, there are still those 200 hoops you have to jump through and you must be extremely careful of how you build your site if you’re trying to please Google. Listen when the king speaks. Observe his rules. Be on your guard, and it helps to become just a little paranoid. And always, always remember, an elephant never forgets.
